Welcome to Archway Labradors

“It is my desire to bring into your life a dog that can be your companion, your friend, your hunting dog, your therapy dog, your helper, your ‘fill the void’, or whatever it may be. If your new pet brings you joy, fills your life, or has brightened your day, then my passion to give to others through my dogs has been accomplished.”

Please come visit us, our puppies and their parents!

We are a small Kennel located on 5 acres just outside of Carman, Manitoba, and are members of the CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB. My husband, Andrew also has a Dairy Service and Supply Business just out side of Carman. As for the two of us together, our dogs play a very large part of our lives, and because of that some of our favourite past time is spent with them.

I received my first dog at age 13. When I was 17, my dad brought home my first Labrador Retriever named Heidi. Heidi and I traveled everywhere together, she was the most lovely friend and companion, a great gift! Since then we have owned several Labrador Retrievers. My husband Andrew and I raised lab puppies when our children were young. My love for dogs, especially Labs, has brought me to raising and training Labs. In the past, I have also sewn dog beds, coats and boots. I have run a very successful boarding kennel, and groomed dogs for several years. There were a number of years where we took a break, and in 2013 we looked into raising Labs again. We were thrilled in 2016 when our first litter of CKC Registered Labrador Retriever pups was born.

Breeding Labrador Retrievers began with the desire to have puppies sound enough to offer up for service or assistance dogs. We have limited the number of quality dogs in our program to an amount that allows us to devote our time, love, and attention to each and every one of them. The health and happiness of our dogs is our priority and they spend their days where they are most comfortable. Our selective breeding program provides quality, sound puppies, with a gentle nature, and we are dedicated to improving the Labrador breed. All of our puppies are well socialized and share time in and out of the house as a part of our family. We take the care of our dogs very seriously. Our daily routine with them is extensive, taking the time for all, ensuring they all have their needs met. Cleaning, feeding, exercising and training our dogs, and maintaining our facility is a large task and a responsibility we do not take lightly. However, seeing our amazing pups finding their way into the homes and lives of our amazing customers makes our hard work worthwhile.

We are eager to specifically select a puppy for your needs, whether it be a family pet, a hunting companion, a therapy dog, a jogging partner, or a dog for agility, fly-ball or conformation events. Please note that each potential puppy owner is screened and approved before a reservation is made. This ensures that our puppies are going to homes that have carefully thought out and planned for the addition of a quality, well-bred puppy into their family. Although we do our very best to seek out only the most loving and stable homes, we feel a sense of responsibility to each Archway pup and dog throughout its entire life, and will always be available to assist them in any way we can. Even if that means welcoming the dog back into our own family, or finding another suitable home for it in the event that it’s family can no longer care for it.

Thank-you for your interest in Archway Labradors, and we hope to see you when you stop in to take home your own Labrador Retriever pup.

-BettyAnn and Andrew Leyenhorst
