Purchase Arrangements

Without dogs, our houses are cold receptacles for things. Dogs make a fire warmer with their curled presence. They wake us, greet us, protect us, and ultimately carve a place in our hearts and in our history. On reflection our lives are often referenced, in part defined by the all-too-short lives of our dogs.”

Important Purchase Information

Before purchasing a puppy from us, please review this page in detail and entirety. It is important for you to know what we expect from you, and also what you can expect from us!

We understand it is an investment and a lifetime commitment to accept the responsibility of adopting a puppy. Please consider all aspects of ‘life with a puppy’ before making a reservation. The cuteness may wear off once you experience the time, energy, expense, training, and socialization needs associated with a puppy. They are full of energy and must learn everything they need to know to fit into your home and compliment your life.

Please always keep in mind the individual needs and traits of this specific breed (exercise and grooming requirements, size, temperament etc.)
Prepare first, and get ready to have the proper care, feed, shelter and time commitment associated with your puppy. We only want the very best homes for our puppies. We feed and recommend TLC dog food. As per our health guarantee your new puppy must remain on TLC for at least 26 months while we are guaranteeing their health. Please review and learn more about TLC and why we feed it under ‘TLC FOOD’ in the main menu.

Your puppy will be ready for you at 8 weeks of age. Before leaving the kennel the following information must be provided: Puppy’s name, your name(s), full address, phone numbers, and e-mail in order to complete the CKC registration application, and activate the PetSecure Insurance policy.

Please be aware that our puppies are sold with a NON-Breeding Agreement from CKC. You must be willing to sign this document and adhere to the implications, which means you must spay or neuter your puppy. This is unless otherwise decided between buyer and breeder that breeding rights will be sold.

Deposits are $500.00  Deposits can be made once you have filled in the adoption form and both you and I feel that an Archway Labrador is a great fit for you and your family. The deposits are non refundable, and apply to the purchase price. Order of deposits received reflects the order of pick in a litter.

Deposits will be refunded or moved to another litter of your choice if when it has been 18 months and the pups that were born are not the color and sex you requested.  Please note – as the breeder we reserve the right to first pick of male and/or female from any litter. Your deposits are to be made by cheque to Betty Ann Leyenhorst, or email transfer to archwaylabradors@gmail.com. Deposits are applied to the purchase price.

We have an average price, (plus GST), however, prices are subject to change at any time depending on circumstances of the breeding and whelping dams. Our pricing reflects the cost of raising sound, and healthy purebred pups . The cost of puppy in each litter depends on the cost that was put into the breeding and the care of the dam. The testing that is done on both the sire and the dam is extensive. That means before we breed a pair we complete the testing to be sure the pups have no birth defects. If you are looking for sound, healthy pups you have come to the right place. Talk to us if you are interested in adopting a pup!
